| Outward Appearance | Garsig Dunbane, also called Maidensbane is a large man, both tall and broad. With brown hair, rare among the Rohirrim, his pale green eyes under thick dark brows are striking against his suntanned skin. His beard is full and he no longer trims it as he has been relieved of his command. His chest is deep and his arms and legs heavy with muscle formed from early farmer and forge work, training in arms as he favors the two handed axe and the long sword of a rider. Scars mar his chest and arms, a deep slash above one eye of a long healed wound and three smaller scratches, still red, mark his left cheek above his beard.

Background
Born to Leofnith and a peasant woman named that lived in a small village near the Isen river. He was a bastard, his mother also bore other children with another man but never married. Garsig was clearly the largest boy in the village and he took to fighting as soon as he could throw a punch. His targets were often the hated Dunlendings that settled among the Rohirrim settlers. Wild and strong, he was soon seen as trouble and his mother was given little choice but to send him away to his father.
Leofnith accepted the boy and put him to work on his farm, teaching him to fight properly with shield and spear. By age 17, he was recruited as a Spearwigend and went into the service of the king. (WIP)
