Wynwyn swallowed as she stepped inside, her wide eyes bent on the guard who seemed awfully unfriendly by nature. She shuffled on the steps, gradually ascending them. She squinted about the dark jail, appearing more than afraid of her surroundings, ironically appearing like a captured small animal, even if she was the one who stood free.
Gydgar and Hondscioh stood muttering about something, with Gydgar occasionally looking over towards the bars. As light came in, he broke away from Hondscioh to head over towards them slowly to see who was coming in. He raised his brow as he looked towards someone he has not yet met, brow raising as his fingers grip the bars. "Are you here to let us out?"
Wynwyn winced as a man appeared from the shadows, although she smiled swifly upon recognizing him, "Yes...." She blinked wide-eyed, "I mean no...No...". Atop her words she shaked her head swiftly, smiling apologetically, "I brought you food." She raised the basket she carried.
Gydgar grinned at that first yes, before it disappeared at the no's. He then leaned in against the bars, beckoning her forward slightly, whispering. "Could you do me a favour lass? I'll repay you, when I get out of this cell."
Wynwyn stepped forward swiftly, smiling at him warmly, "What is it?"
Gydgar whispering, "Could you try and find out whatever you can about what is happening to us? Whether we are to be set free, or left to rot here." His brow raised to her, trying his warmest smile despite the cold that gnawed at his bones.
Wynwyn nodded, although smiled sadly afterward, her brow furrowing in apology as she whispered, "I can try. But I am not a local, so...uh..They might not tell me much, and..." She lowered her voice further, "I have been advised to not anger the Reeve." She pursed her lips into a worried line while her blue eyes studied the shadows.
Gydgar thought for a moment, his teeth biting into his lip and his eyes looking to the guard for a moment. "You are a pretty lass, try and flirt with one of the guards and see if he will tell you anything." He raised his brow, a slightly jesting grin on his lips before he looked over his shoulder towards the others. "Will you visit again tomorrow?"
Wynwyn opened her mouth, staring at the man in a sheer shock for his suggestion.
Gydgar let out a huff of laughter at her reaction, "It was only a jest. All of these guards here are too deep up the Reeves arse to even notice a woman flirting with them." He spoke out, looking towards the guard.
Hondscioh turned around, gazing down briefly at Niehstu, and only to spit beside her. The man's brows were furrowed, then he walked near Gydgar, eyes finding a familiar face. ''Wynwyn..'' the name escaped the man's mouth, pursing them, he firmed his jaw, lifting a brow ''Helm's balls.. I mean... What are ye doing here?''
Niehstu was hugging her knees. Since they were put to jail she did not utter a single word. At times she could be heard sobbing and avoided to look any of them in the eye. She shrunk in her corner, barely touching her food, preparing to keep in the dark.
Wynwyn forced a smile at Gydgar, although she could not force herself to laugh at his jest. She escaped it, offering a relived expression to Hondscioh, "There you are...Uh...I brought you and that girl some food." She attempted to give him the basket, although it clattered against the bars. Apparently she had forgotten they existed. She blushed at her stupidity, quickly pulling some rolls of cloths from the basket to offer them through the bars. "The midwife made them. -- Slices of meatpie I believe.''
Hondscioh lowered his gaze lest her to see him pale. ''O, thanks.'' the man struggled up the barest of smiles, a weak one, and he extended an arm out to take the rolls of cloths ''Most appreciated, eh.'' he paused ''And I wasn't expecting to see ye here. You shouldn't come here oft. Else they'd think yer up to no good.''
Wynwyn blinked once, before smiling sadly down at her boot tips, "Yes, I have been told not to anger the Reeve and to keep my good name." She'd abruptly pull something from her belt, offering it to him swiftly, "Here....something more." She smiled at him warmly. Wynwyn had given Hondscioh a woolen gray cap. Thin enough to be fitted under a helmet. The woman was startled further by a guard who commands her outside, as only one guest could visit at a time. She stepped up the stairs in the guard's tow, turning once to send a hesitant wave at those who remained.
Hondscioh gazed down at the offered gift with a growing grin, and he lifted his bearded chin to meet her gaze. ''I thank you, Wynwyn. I'll see you once I get out of this rotting place, by Wyrd's will...''
