Blinding Light

As Lindovor listened to the ringing voice of Lady Alkawen , his eyes travelled over the sea of faces that had gathered to hear her words.  Each wore the starred brooch of the Order, yet not all faces wore a pleased expression at her words.

There were so many who preferred.. nay loved... the shadows. Lindovor frowned as he saw those few shift in the place where they stood. They would obey the Lady or be foresworn, but the old soldier could see that they would not be happy about it.

Others though, and Lindovor's heart lightened at the thought, would embrace the light and open dealings with joy. To walk uncumbered by secrets and take what the day's light would bring would be a source of strength and courage. After these years of being buried, even Lindovor felt his heart rise at the words "Light from the Shadows". Yes, indeed, for did not the stars always shine be it day or night?
