Liiton Siunaus

( This is a poem 'sung' or spoken along the rhythm and tradition of old Finnish poem recitation: Example here . It mentions many divines I invented for my character's religion (The list of them) and it was sung when Vaalea's parents Kaino and Lauri were married )

Liiton Siunaus

Kaino kaunein kaikista,
suuren su’en lapsista.
Lauri vahvin veljistä,
vallan vastuun perijistä.

Laitetaan hei’ät yhtehen,
lauletaan nimet tuulehen.
pyyetään poikaa Ämmältä,
suotuisaa säätä Äijältä.

Pysy poissa vihan Viima,
puhalla poies paha Puhuri.
Suo suojaisa sija Siimes.
Valitte tie oikea Suunta.

Viisaat isät ikiaikaiset,
neuvojat iänikuiset,
kotihinne tänään palatkaa,
lastehenne liitto siunatkaa.

((This is incredibly difficult to translate,
because it is weird old poetic Finnish, but I tried anyway.))

The Blessing Of Bond

Kaino the most fair
of all the children of the wolf.
Lauri the strongest of the brothers
the heir to the rule.

Today we shall unite them,
sing their names to the wind.
Great Mother Of All give them a son.
Great Father Of All favour them with good weather.

May the biting Breeze never blow into their direction,
May the evil Gale look away from these two.
Give them shelter Great Shade.
Show them direction Great Guide.

The wise forefathers,
Our ancient seers.
Come forth tonight
to bless this bond.
