A Poem about Flowers

Here's a song about some flowers
Growing with each springtime shower
They bring fresh colours each new hour
Red and pink and yellow and blue
All paint the fields with lovely hues

Bluebells, Bluebottles, so much blue!
They sparkle with fresh morning dew
Blue petalled faces smile for you
Rubbing gently against your feet
Blue woodland carpets smell so sweet

Lillies stand so pure and white
And pale orchids that catch the light
Fields of daisies, a lovely sight
White petals chase the dark away
They brighten up the dullest day

Roses, poppies, such vivid red
With long green stalks and scarlet heads
They brighten up all flower beds
Their crimson blossoms catch the eye
Just like red suns in twilight skies

Daffodils so bright and yellow
And sunflowers, such tall fellows!
Buttercups so soft and mellow
Like treasures out of days of old
Cover the land with fields of gold

Flowers are growing everywhere!
Their fragrance carried on the air
Lasses can put them in their hair
Multi-coloured rainbow towers
Hail the lovely Shire flowers!
