Traveling in Ered Luin

Moinar stood on the hills over looking the snowy hills and trees of Ered Luin, in the distance he can faintly see the way-station of Nogrond. Gently puffing on his pipe that his great grand-father made him he thought about the past ten or so years helping Dwalin fighting of the Dourhands to crush the Longbears from Thorin's Hall and how a mysterious man named Eogan held so much sway over a Dwarf.. even if that Dwarf was possessd by a fell spirit by a Gaunt Lord from the First Age.

"Hmpf. Wit a fat lot of goblins crap I've got meself intae..." said Moinar to himself. Finally tapping his pipe on his knee to get rid of the ashes and carefully wrapping his pipe in a worn cloth and placing it into his pack.

Strapping his pack onto his back he started on down the hill into Ered Luin with intructions to meet up with the Dwarves of Noglond. Humming to himself as he travelled down the dirt path he thought back to the moment when Dwalin asked him to travel to Bree to meet up with Gandalf the Grey, the Man who he met in The Silver Deep and who saved Gimli's life from that troll that came out of no where.

"Bah" he exclaimed. "I be a Longbeard ay The Lonely Mountains and I aint gonnae let them good-for-nothing, oath-breaking- false-speaking, thin-beared Dourhands stop me fae helpin' me kin fae the dark days ahed."

With new found vigor he steped up'ed his pace and marched firmly onwards to Noglond. A while later he finally made it to the way-station and was greeted by grim looking Dwarves.

"Hail and well met tae ye. I be Moinar Bloodbellow, son of Baneirin and I bear a letter fae Dwalin Steward of Thorin's Hall to help ye in anyway I can." he said handing the letter to the Dwarf.

"Well met Moinar son of Baneirin. I'am Grimkell Stonebearer the Commander of the Noglond Way-Station and we are in need of help, I have lost one of my guards to cut some fire wood and he hasn't returned and I hear the water from the canal is blocked  and Geitir is looking for abled bodied Dwarves to have a look at it to see what the problem is." he replied to Moinar.

Nodding to Grimkell. "Commander I will go and find your missing guard and will see whats happing wae the water as am oot there."

With that he heads back out again after an hours rest around the camp fire.

Travelling west he comes across the bridge to Sarnúr and as he looks down to the water he can see thrushes had blocked the access of water to the Low-Lands and Gondamon.

"Hmm, I will need a tool to remove that." he muses allowed as he looks musingly at his mace that would never cut away the thrushes. "I will have a talk wae Geiter when I get back to camp." he said finally.

From the direction he got from the Commander Moinar heads north west and although he hasn't the tracking abilities of a Hunter he can see faint foot prints of a Dwarf heading up the slope to the hills to the Thrushstones. Heading up the hill he sees in the distance woodsmoke, hurrying further he soon comes to the camp of a Dwarf.

"Hail Dwarf!" Moinar shouts to get the Dwarves attention as he didn't want to startle the Dwarf as he rushed into the camp. "It be Moinar your rescuer!"

Startled, the Dwarf near the camp fire looks to the direction of the voice. "Ah thank you friend, I'am Vifill" he shouts with obvious relief in his voice. "please come and sit by my fire."

Entering the camp, Moinar sits down with an obvious sigh. "Thank ye friend, Commander Grimkell of Noglond sent me oot tae look fer ye and I hiv, cin ye walk yit?" Moinar enquires.

"No I can't yet Friend." says the Vifill grimacingly. "My leg is still hurt. I;m going to stay here awhile longer but you need to get back to Commander Grimkell urgently! There are Goblins in the vale South West off here. They are holding up in the Firewood Grove and they are the ones that caught me!" He said wincing in pain.

Alarmingly Moinar sat up and looked around for any sight of the green bellied Goblins incase they were hiding in the bushes. Seeing none he looks back at Vifill. "Aye ok Vifill. I will head back to Commander Grimskell the now." replied Moinar. He got up from the heat of the camp fire and saying farewell to Vifill for now he heads back to Noglond.

Once he reached Noglon he went straight to Commander Grimskell.

"Hail and well met Commander, I have grave news fae yer guard Vifill, he lies injured at the outskirts tae the Thrushtones he is waiting till he cin walk back tae Noglond before he comes back but he sent me wae a urgent message fer ye." Moinar pauses as he looks at the Commander with an expectent frown on his face. "They be Goblins in the Firewood Grove Commander."

"Bah dont talk daft. There is no Goblins in these parts. Just wolves and bears. Times are dire indead so to make sure I want you to go and scout it out. Come back to me when you have news." Grimkell said dismissively.

He next went to Geiter. "Hail and well met Geiter. I be Moinar Bloodbellow, son of Baneirin. I have been sent south tae ye to fix the dam problem and it be brushes that be clogging up the passage south, dae ye hiv any tools I cin use to clear it?" Moinar asked Geiter.

"Hail and well met Moinar. Ah so thats what been causing the clog? I've been harrassed by them Dwarves from Gondamon wanting there water flowing again and its good to know that at least we know whats it causing it since I couldn't send any of my builders down." Geiter replied with obvious replief in his voice. "But if you decide to go back out here's my shears, these should do the trick with cutting them thrushes away to let the water to flow again south." He said giving the shears to Moinar.

"Aye these be grand. Thank ye Geiter. I will be back when to let ye know when I've cut away them brushes!" Moinar replied as he started left Noglond.

With new found purpose he briskly walked to the bridge and scrambled down the small hill to the brushes and jumped into the water. Pulling out his shears he started shearing away at the thrushes. Half an hour later he was done.

"Phew that was hard work." He said as he wiped the sweat from his brow. "Those bloody thrushes are a pain in the backside! I better be aff tae those Goblin's now.

Moinar replaced the shears in his pack and started heading in the direction of Firewood Grove. As he neared the area. He could hear the cackling laughter of the Goblins. Luckily for him it was dark and he could creep closer, hopefully for him without being seen.

As he creeped closer he noticed that they were patrolling up into a pass which led to an old Dourhand Fortress. As he was near he could hear the Goblins speaking.

"Hahaha! De Chieftain been telling me we be going tae keel them dorfies!! Hehehe me cannae be waitin longer! Me be wantin tae goin now!! Kehehehe. He be up in dem ruins makin dem plans tae attack and keel them dorfies de now! said the Goblin as he jumped up and down around the camp fire.

Backing away Moinar thought about his plan of attack. He could simply fight away through them all or he could try and sneak in. "Bah what am I thinking? Sneaking in?! Ha! Thats for whimps!" He thought to himself. "I'm gonna burst in and bash their heeds in wae ma cries!"

Going into his pack he pulled out his much loved flute and help it at the ready. Taking in a deep breath he rushed into the clearing stunning the Goblins by surprise.

"Haha ya Gobbies! Gotcha!" He shouted. Putting his flute to his lips he blasted the Goblins with the ballads of his heroes, the songs of the Dwarven old. One after the other Goblins died from the full wrath  of his powerfull songs. He reached the top of hill towards the ancient ruins with bodies of his slain Goblins behind him. Turing the corner he saw in the distance the Goblin Chieftain. Jogging on the spot for a few seconds building up his adrenaline he brought his flute to his lips and rushed into the clearing with the Goblin Chieftain and played a tune so forcefull that it blasted the Chieftain right off the edge of the cliff he was near and landed at the buttom of the cliff.

"Haha, wid ye look at that. Wan deed Gobbie and Ered Luin safe for now.." Turning around he made his way back down the cliff towards Vifill camp to let him know that he was safe for now till his injury healed and then headed back to Noglond.

"Hail Geiter! The thrushes be removed and here be yer shears, a little worn for wear but nevertheless still working. The water be flowing again."

"Thank you Moinar, the dwarves at Gondoman will welcome this. I heard they were getting rather thirsty." Geiter replied. "I will let Commander Grimkell know about this." He said I he turned around to his work.

Turning to the Commander. "Hail Commander Grimkell, the Goblin Chieftain is nae mare.. He be beed at the bottom o the cliff splattered on the ground." He told the Commander chuckling.

Sighing with relief. "Ah thats good news Moinar." he replied. "We thank you again for getting rid of the brushes and removing a threat to here and Thorin's Hall. But, sadly the danger isnt over yet. I need you to go straight to Gondoman they are having trouble with Dourhands and need any able bodied Dwarves right away. Here is your orders." Grimkell said to Moinar handing him his orders.

Saluting smartly to the Commander he turned around and left Noglond on his way to Gondamon.
