It has been a while since I last wrote about my business of late but I believe its time to collect my thoughts once more.
First off there is the matter of Fiontann and Rothrian, suddenly they have returned to Breeland and with them they brought a heap of trouble.
On the day I got to see them again I got lured into a trap, almost died of smoke inhalation, got trapped in a cave, had a unpleasant encounter with the orcs of Cirith Nûr and that within the span of what may have been an hour or two at most.
It seems Fiontann is as bold and mindless as ever. A thirst for combat and a mind set on death of anything evil. Though he is brave he is foolish. He rather charges to his death then plan out his attack properly so it may result in greater success. That part will never change about him I suppose.
Rothrian however is as calm and collected of mind as I can remember. Surely she is Fiontann's better half.
I must admit that is was very pleasant to see the two again after such a long time. I've been so busy with fighting off the orcs and Blackwold that I almost feared I would not see them ever again. But I did......
Then there is the matter of Ruby.
She is a very interesting person to both conversate with and observe. A woman from Rohan with flaming red hair, which seems to still be a weakness of mine, that has a good mind and a clever tongue. She knows how to extract information and is not afraid to say what she thinks. She is also a tad stubborn but I am the last one to judge on that seeming I myself am quite hard to convince as well.
She has told me her story and its not a pretty one. Another case of flawed laws and unfairness of power.
She did a bad thing to protect herself from evil and is apparently still sought out for this I know the watch is not one of kindness and only follows the laws they themselves make so its best that they don't find out about this.
Many posters of Ruby have been posted around the town and roads of Bree and perhaps entire Eriador. I must have burned hundreds of them by now but it seems an endless quest. At least it keeps it somewhat contained.
I hope I can help her, she has been kind and open-minded towards me and other and she disserves a chance of a free life without having to worry about her past catching up to her.
I will protect her as best I can against whoever wishes to harm her. That I swore to myself as she is the example of innocence and freedom in this world.
So is the word on my heart and so I shall follow it.
After all she has become a close friend to me.
Very close.....
