Although this is only my second writing to you dearest, commendered, diary however I am lucky to be wirting to you at all! As you know I was separated from a party of Dwarves and I suspected the mythical demon the great Balrog of the Deep was nearby. It seems that my exhaustion had got the better of me and I was hearing things! I have been alone for so long now I'm actually hearing things that don't even exist!
My fate had seemed to be seeled, destine to live out the rest of my days lost in this terrible place, I did not see any sign of civilized life for weeks, beasts and Goblins have met their end by my sword but with little food left my strength weined and I could not long continue. My thoughts turned to those whom I loved as I felt the darkness closing in around me, Eoryn and Cymaru, my two ladys of light, o how I wished I hadn't had to deliver 'one more message.' It seems my luck has not quite yet run out however, as I limped through a cavern I saw a torch light and the voices of men. As they saw me approach they rushed to help me, asking my name and my tale. As I sat and explained my reasons for being in Moria they gave me food and water, men of kindness, a wonderful sight for my very sore eyes!
I spent 3 days with them, resting and regaining my strength, I helped them on one of their skirmishes and upon our successful return they gave me a map and directions for a way out of the mountain, much less chaotic than the one I came in! Funnily enough after weeks of wandering through the darkness I had ended up only a day away from the road back to Eregion, my luck is definately still with me!
Anyway I write to you now from the house of Elrond in Rivendell, I have ran a few errands for the great, great Elf and he was happy for me to stay with him before returning to Bree, not without seeing to some more of his business first though! I leave for Bree tomorrow, and I simply cannot wait to see Cymaru and Eoryn again, although, I cannot be sure on my reception upon returning from yet another long spell without any contact, I just hope that Cym hasn't found someone else, if nothing else I now realise that I love her!
Until next time...
