Letters to Rohan

Dear Tosie,

I apologise for the time it took for me to respond to your letter. I have arrived in a small town on the Western Border of Gondor, and the letter arrived two days after my own arrival. I realised that I felt a need to get some closure, so am travelling to my old mentors grave to pay my last respects, and your letter was sent to follow me.

I am glad to hear you are both safe and well, and I am sure your aunt means well. Though I have never heard of Wildermore, your news worries me though I doubt the existence of an ice giant. Keep warm and safe, for wolves often prowl the snow.

Just as you do, I feel calm, being in the land of my birth, among the people I swore to protect when I became a squire... I am staying in this town for a while, letting my horse rest awhile and doing odd jobs around the town, earning some keep while I am here. The blacksmith has also repaired some dents in my armour from a scuffle on the road with a bandit. I am fine, only received a couple of dents, nothing worse. I will move on from here soon, making my way towards Pelargir, where they buried him.

With love,

Aren
