Guarding sublime beauty

After Thendryt's unexpected visit, Ráolor began spending most of his free time next to his precious statue, yet unfinished. Apart from working many hours every day, he would just stand in front of it, motionless, eyeing the surroundings of Imlad Gelair, as if he was expecting Thendryt to suddenly attack from the shadows.

Indeed, the damned mortal had found the sculptors weak point: the statue of Faorie.

But a preventive attack was impossible. With an almost otherworldly effort, Ráolor had changed his mind, honouring Faorie's words.

Thendryt wasn't his enemy any more.

The only thing left to him was defense, vigilance, and the will to carry on, until the statue's completion.

The Noldo was ready.  He would defend his creation bare-handed. He would try to stop weapons with his body. He would die, so that his art endured.
