Undómion let his fingers drift over the blue diamond, feeling its hard and unmarred surface, while listening to the low echo of song from the raindrops encased beneath. He remembered the mass effort to enclose actual water beneath the gem’s surface without doing too much damage to the crystal. Making small holes in the surface, collecting grass blades with dew still on their tip, letting the water drip into the hole, and then smoothing the hole in crystal surface shut…None can match the skill and proficiency of Fëanor though, but nevertheless, the water diamond was the symbol of the House of Singing Rain. That jewel was the only thing Undómion took with him when he crossed the Helcaraxë with his brother. Undómion was not any one of big importance, save he was a son of the blacksmith of that particular Noldorin house. He would always consider that place to be his true home…Valinor as a whole in general.
A strange thing, when he saw his lord’s son, Tharglîr, at the Feast of Reuniting in Beleriand. The ‘elfling’ was always over energetic, always seeking adventure, in fact, he always managed to make someone exhausted. Undómion fell into that line of work…though he, his brother, and Tharglîr were not subject to someone over them (save perhaps the kings), Undómion felt obliged to be some sort of guardian to the elf. Aridhor also felt the same obligation to play ‘protector’ to his brother and lord’s son, but Tharglîr did not overly appreciate being watched over again. “Always feeling constrained” he said. They all complied at some point, and made residence in Nargothrond and were a part of the guard…Tharglîr joined two companions to patrol the road (which year it was Undómion could not remember), though the actual truth was to wander the plains for a time.
They never came back.
Aridhor and Undómion felt failure and perhaps a sense of betrayal...but they never knew nor found out what became of the trio. The two brothers played their part and continued on with their lives…Sad things transpire over the course of time. Betrayal, separation, loss…it is all a part of life.
((This is a part of my character's history...however, the conceptual tab is the only place appropriate for this considering this is not something that happened in game, and likely may not be known to anyone...))
