The sun came up in the far horizon when the young Eirveth opened her eyes at home. She was at her age seven these days. Her twin brother, Nethul was sleeping next to her. She jumped on him playfully and started to tickle him to wake him up. They were laughing when their mother, Heny walked closer and picked up Eirveth, brought her to the table to eat some. Nethul ran after them and sat down next to her. They were staring at their mother, when she said:
"We will go to Meduseld soon. Your father and the other riders will ride out. I'm sure he would be happy if we say farewell to him, before he go."
After her words, Eirveth jumped up from the table and ran back to her bed, grabbed her wooden sword and shield. With her next movement she was outside the house, her mother was unable to stop her when it was about the riders and her father.
She was standing outside the house, at the door and looked around fast. Saw the mead hall on the hill and smiled happily. Ran down on the road towards the market, everyone was smiling around aswell when they saw the young blonde child running around with some wooden weapons. She ran by the fountain towards the stairs leaded to the mead hall, was staring at the big horse statues around for some moments when her mother and her brother arrived next to her. They walked up to the stairs together and stopped when they saw the riders at the entrance of Meduseld.
Eirveth saw her father, who was happy to see her, she was about to run to him, when her mother stopped her and told her:
"Don't run there sweetheart, your father is busy with his tasks. He will come to you when he is able to"
Eirveth became so sad and was standing next to her mother and brother, was watching her father from far and the other riders, when she turn to her mother and asked her:
"Mom! Mom! I have my shield and sword! Can I go with dad? Please?!"
Her mother was smiling at her and stroked her head gently when their father, Eofear walked to them. He kissed his wife and the children too. Eirveth threw down the wooden sword and shield to grab her father's leg. Eofear looked down at her and said:
"Stay with your mother Eirveth. It's not something for girls! I'm sure your brother will be a good rider later, but please you should stay at home and help your mother!"
Eirveth became angry at his words and stepped away from her father, grabbed her toys and ran to the side of the mead hall. She sat down on a rock there and was watching the riders from far. When they mounted their horses and rode out from Edoras, she stood up there and shouted out from the rock:
"Forward, Sons of Eorl! For the King!"
