Diary,
It's been wonderful... I can barely stop to think straight my minds all a-flutter. I guess I should explain all that's happened.
I visited Fal, after all she's my friend and I do not see enough of her. When I arrived, she was playing with her pet Lynx's kittens. They were so cute, and then she offered me one. I'm going to spend time with them to decide which I would like, and then help to train them. I can't wait they're adorable!
Then I traveled to the Dawn Hall, I wanted to see who was there, and luckily Tal was there. We spoke about the contract, then went out to Chetwood to spy on the camp. I am fortunate Tal knows the area, as I have formed a plan, with some discussion with Tal and know how the attack will go. I returned to the Dawn Hall, Tal had business in Bree and spoke with Fal who was sitting outside. Some woman had arrived, and Fal didn't seem to like her, or she reminded her of her past. I am unsure Fal isn't always the most coherent of friends.
I went inside to investigate, and found Basaran sitting with a woman on the floor. She was startled when I spoke, and it was then that I noticed Bas was gesturing to his eyes. Only then did I realise she was blind. Basaran took her upstairs to his office, and we spoke afterwards, she is apparently being hunted by her former slaver, so we must be careful who comes to the Dawn Hall. He also informed me that my contract is the first time he's trusted a non-officer with something of this size and importance. Is it bad to say I'm proud of myself?
The next day, I was in the Hall again, serving Rin and myself some soup that I had heated over the fire, when Dristin walked in. He had a woman bound and unconscious slung across his shoulder, and a dark skinned hobbit tailing behind him. He may not have heard of the order Bas had given out, but when I told him we were under orders from the Captain to be careful who we brought to the Hall he shrugged me off. The woman was bound, and the other was only a hobbit, what harm could come from them. The hobbit had an accent, which when I thought about it later, reminded me of Rashnu's. How a hobbit came to have that accent I know not but I dislike it, and we do not know the captives abilities. I tried to hint that we had to "protect a life" but I do not know if he got my meaning. But he still ignored me when I told him we were under Bas' orders.
It turns out the woman had drawn a sword on the hobbit, and Dristin had stopped her. On a hunch that she might be a misunderstood, scared, and hunted woman, he brought her to the Dawn Hall to protect her from the incompassionate Watch. Only a hunch! He did not know for sure. As it turns out, she was hostile and so he knocked her unconscious and left her in Bree without her weapons. During this, I decided to guard the door towards Bas's office with Rin, should anything happen. Then, the hobbit dashed towards the front door. I made to catch her, but she had disappeared when I got outside. Dristin didn't seem worried about this, but as I said there was something off about her and her behaviour, and it will be on his head if anything should happen.
So I went to the Pony to calm down, and spoke with Rin, Eordion, and Tim briefly before spotting the Watcher I had spoken to the other day. I chased after him and sorted some things out with the contract. There will be a reward for the woman, and a reward for information on her, depending on what it is. We will also be paid to conduct the attack on the Blackwold camp. I have also discussed a sort of... alliance, working with each other to better the case. It is personal to both parties, so we decided it for the best. It is only now that I remember I should have asked his name, I ought to know who I am working with.
After that, I headed home with Tim, after all I had invited him over some days ago. I changed out my armour, in a separate room of course, but we were talking and he said he had many things on his mind. Upon further inquiry, he admitted on of the things, was me. I am glad I was in a separate room, he saw neither my blush nor my smile. I returned to the main room of my house and admitted that I had been thinking about him too. I was nervous, but I couldn't stop myself from doing what I did next. I had wanted to for a while... just been too scared and not yet ready. But it was too much to stop myself. I reached up, he's very tall, and pulled him in for a kiss. It felt so good to finally do it and still feel like my stomach is full of butterflies when I think of it. We spoke and kissed some more, till Rin walked in. She doesn't knock when she visits, but I don't mind, she's like my sister, but this time I'd rather she had. I pulled away from Tim, and I assume I turned the colour of a tomato.
Rin seemed... shocked and a little moody. I shooed Tim out, feeling bad for him but he seemed to understand. Rin was quiet, and it took a lot of prodding to finally get her to explain what was wrong. She explained she's selfish, and does not want to share me with anyone, and how she's worried that I will spend less time with her. It's times like these I remember she's only fifteen years old. I reassured her, pulled her into a hug. I'll be going slow with Tim. I do not wish to rush things and it will take a long time before the change in behaviour is truly noticeable to Rin. She seemed reassured by that and went to bed.
I had one last errand before bed. I visited the Captain at his house, I wanted to file my report before I forgot about it. I felt bad for interrupting the "nothing important" that he was doing with Dani but it was important. I explained the situation with Dristin and all that had happened, and Bas thanked me for the help. Apparently I'm making a name for myself in the Dawn, which I feel is a good thing. Dani also seemed to warm a little too me, even though she still hid behind Bas.
After that, it was bed for me. It had been a long day.
