War in the Wold

Ever since Deorgast has been forgiven by the most recent Thane of the Wold of the crimes he had been accused of, The Swiftly abandoned his nomad ways to stay in Rohan and defend the Wold against the Easterling threat that rose, each day more bold and strong. He was now not a hunter in light clothing and only a bow and backpack by his side, but he returned to being a fully armoured soldier, with a sword and shield. However, always with his bow by his side.
He had sent a few letters to his friends back in the West, including Fiontann, Taala and a few others, but since war had been ravaging through the Horse-Lord lands, he was not sure whether the letters got to their destination or not.
"I hope they're still alive." - he thought everyday, knowing that both of them had dangerous ways of living, Taala being a sellsword and Fiontann having the urge to come to where war was raging, and the path being not being safe at all.
The Swiftly was still alive, though. He was determined to keep the lands of the Wold safe, Harwick being a very important settlement to the rest of the Riddermark, being the most northern post of that land. He even was given his own company to roam the lands with, riding the plains of scouts and small settlements of the Easterling threat. He almost broke down mentally when Grimme, his old horse, died of a spear wound, but eventually became more determined to end the enemies that threatened his land.

None of his old companions knew where he had been, but he was still quite alive.
