The Private Journal of Piperel Fenflower: First Summersday

I saw my sister in town again, she delivered the parcels of groceries I'd asked her to bring from the farm. Despite her pleas that I do it myself, I do not wish to face Dad right now for I'm certain that Corrben has told him horrible things about Gorlen and I find it very difficult to lie to my father. He always knows, I suppose a father does and top that with him being a Watcher for over ten years. So finally, she broke down and went got the items. No doubt my mother would think I'm having a hard time of things and too proud to admit it, therefore letting it slide without questioning Corrinne too much. Which is good, because that girl would break under pressure. She never knows when to keep her mouth shut. You would think one as soft spoken as she would be more circumspect.

I spent the evening enjoying the view of Bree from a neighboring farm on a hillside with Gorlen. Anytime spent with him is fun and this was no disappointment. I am so looking forward to our trip, I've taken it upon myself to prepare the travel food and drink, he's even given me money for supplies but with some dealing I was able to cut costs. It's my own way of contributing as I cannot wield a sword nor am I part of the contract, I'll do my best not to be a sack of potatoes being dragged along.
