This is an attempt to write down, in short, the rp plots, stories and characters that have passed from the Laurelin server though new characters can be added as well. Hopefully it would help new players blend in and give some credit to the older players of the server.

In the “Old stories and people of Bree” there would be no entries about more recent events (events of the last few months), to avoid metagaming and also the trouble that such an attempt would cause to the in character author of this Book, my character Sylgmar. Information that might get Sylgmar into serious trouble won’t be written down in the Book. For example there would be no entries about assassins, murderers etc. unless they are dead or the Town Watch gives away their names or unless they are gone from Bree for good. Information about characters and groups, even if they are no longer around are still very welcome.
The Book will consist of entries, which the players of the rp community will provide. The name of the player that provides the entry will not be public as that is out of character information. Still the in character source of the information should be given.
Each entry will include the entry name and its in character source. To ensure that there would be no metagaming or other problems, the entries will be sent to Sylgmar in the game mail or in the Laurelin archives mailbox. Entries have to be short . Entries can include false information, given that there’s actually such a misconception in character. For example there might be an entry about a person’s death, if the person is presumed to be dead and there has been word about his death, even though that person in character might actually be still alive. The entries provided might be changed by the in character author of the Book, to match her writing style and education.
This Book will be available in character to any character that can read unless there’s an in character reason to do otherwise. The author also has a copy of this Book.
Entries will be listed in alphabetical order. It will take some time to arrange them so there might be some delay there.
In character time can be very tricky, as players do not all use the same time references. So exact dates cannot be used.
Entry: location name, person name, family name, a date, an object
Source: This would be Sylgmar’s IN CHARACTER source. The information given should be information that Sylgmar could have found out in character. Information that cannot be easily retrieved would not be known by Sylgmar, she is a scholar not a private investigator.
Possible sources could be:
1.The Archives of Bree Town
2. A specific person (This person must have icly talked to Sylgmar. If that person is a character of yours, I would love to rp that with you, but still we can just say the characters have talked without actually rping it)
3. Rumor-Common knowledge: Rumor can only refer to commonly known things, things that anybody could know.
4.Town Watch or City Hall records: It should not be assumed that in the middle earth setting all such records would be accessible to just anyone. Surely though some information could be retrievable. The Bree Watch kinship members can always provide information that the Town Watch could have.
5. Other in character books about Bree and Bree-land
For example:
The Prancing Pony: Bree’s most famous inn. Owned by Barliman Butterbur, a bachelor. Open every day all day. Serves food and drinks. Rooms to let. Location: North-east side of the town, near a fountain square, north of the town hall.
