The past few weeks a few of the newer members of the Warband were tasked with trying to discover the staging area from whence the enemy forces had been moving on the eastern sides of the Trollshaws and the Bruinen Ford.
And so it came to pass that Elisbeth leader of the Warband did call council to hear Gelfrid report on what they had discovered in their Halls in Imladris.
Steadily the warriors that could answer the call rode to Imladris and to the Halls of the Warband. The warriors greeted each other in their usual manner and Elisbeth seemed pleased that they had managed to gather most of the Warband that had been detached on outside duties across the western realm. Elisbeth beckoned them to the council table upon which was laid out finely crafted maps of the Lone Lands and the Trollshaws. Once everyone had quietened down Elisbeth asked Gelfrid to give his report on what he has discovered.
Gelfrid spoke with quiet confidence as he spoke of his survey of the southern part of the Trollshaws and how over time he found a hidden recess from which he saw men clad in the garb of Angmarians coming to and fro. But this was not all he revealed for he then went on to speak of the fact these men had a much more dangerous ally, that of the Troll also seen guarding this passageway.
Thendryt then spoke of the fact he had heard Trolls are turned into stone in direct sunlight, but the more experienced members of the Warband new that these Trolls would be the more hardy battle Trolls.
Gelfrid had met a lot of resistance as he tried to scout the outer areas of this encampment of the enemy, so much so that he had to call upon the aid of Tzel and Tagos two skilled Archers of the Warband. With their help he was able to do a gentle probe into the pathways to and from their encampment and discovered another two pathways that were hidden to the casual eye.
Now as all this was revealed it was obvious that the warriors were all agreed this was a clear and present danger to Imladris and the western highway, thus the Warband would ride to strike the encampment. Elisbeth has already forseen this would be the case and had taken time to speak with Lord Elrond and get his permission to take the Warband to mount a strike against the enemy.
At this stage tactics were now laid out upon the table for there were 3 access ways into the enemy encampment that they were aware of, and that all three would have to be either blocked or sealed when the attack was mounted. Tagos suggested that the Warband members be broken down into three groups which would work together to strike the heart of the encampment at the same time with Khalis being in charge of the group that would initiate the final strike. Everyone seemed happy with their role and thus all that remained was to set a date and time for the strike when the night was empty of the moon.
