Close to his end



He was kneeling on his right knee, the whip wrapped round his right hand and his sword held in his left. Amrath tightened his fist around the whip and pushed himself up to his feet. The Angmarim narrowed his eyes under the hood and smirked, letting his white eyes show, his left leg took a step forward and his right hand pulled the whip, causing Amrath to stagger forward and lose the grip on the whip. The warrior stumbled ahead and almost fell to his knee, but before that happening the Angmarim’s knee found its way to his face. Blood gushed out of his mouth and nose and he lied down, letting the sword from his hand.

The other two men, the Angmarim’s companions watched the fight commence quietly, enjoying how skillfully their man beat Amrath. The tall muscled man sent the whip straight to Amrath’s back, it ripped his flesh and the horrible sound made even the other two shudder, they knew how good he was with it. “Finish him!” ordered the tall and slim Angmarim, but the fighter ignored his words and sent the whip ahead again, this time it found Amrath’s left side, slashing his thigh. The man let out a groan and a deep sigh escaped his lips as he fell more to the ground, unable to fight back anymore. The man pulled back the whip and held it in his right hand, stepping slowly close to Amrath, he looked at him and pressed his knee at the man’s throat, making him start to lose consciousness.

The other two watched in interest, the way he fought and brought death on others was odd even to them. Amrath’s eyes turned up and one more breath escaped his lips, his eyes and his body relaxed completely. He was lying near the edge of the cliff, straight down was Lake Evendim and the Angmarim put his boot on Amrath’s chest and pushed him off the edge. He didn’t stay there to see whether the body would fall in the water or not, he just walked to his horse. He cast a glance at the other two who were observing him and spoke in his serpent-like voice “Aren’t we in hurry?” and swung his right leg over the horse’s back and landed on its saddle. The other two did the same and all together rode East…
