Second job, first true injury: Waking up

She felt like she was under water. Her limbs were iron, and her eyelids felt about the same as she pushed them up, barely noticing Dallin looming above her. Faintly she registered laying on something soft... her head ached. She felt...wrong.

"Eva? Eva? Can you hear me?" Who was talking to her? It was Dallin, wasn't it? She nodded  anyway. "Do you remember what happened?" It was difficult, but she managed a small shrugging nod. "The arrow wound isn't bad, and... it doesn't look like where you were hit will be too bad... there was just a lot of bleeding." She furrowed her brow, frowning and reaching a hand up to touch the side of her head. "That's not what I mean." She didn't give any response, but instead completely gave up on keeping her eyes open. "Stop it, don't go under again." he seemed almost to scold her, shaking her arm in a less than gentle manner. She groaned, begrudgingly pushing her eyes open again.

Finally she managed to speak, "How bad is it?"

"We're not sure yet." she nodded dully again. "I guess we'll see."
