A letter to Elorfin #1

in

Suilad Father, It has been a good while since my last letter to you, I trust you are keeping well I have heard that the situation has not yet improved at home. Since my arrival at the House of Vanimar I have been made to feel most welcome, Lord Veryacano sends his warmest regards. My journeys have not been without incident, yet thus far I have prevailed if not by the grace of the Eldar.

Eriador has many sights of awe and splendour that I have seen and the many folk whom dwell within these lands that I have met all with their own peculiarities and customs are a joy and sometimes perplexing, although I still long for home. I am pleased to note my skill with a bow has progressed and has been put to much use where there is need and dark deeds. Many times relying on hope alone as there have been times when the battle had seemed lost. I have met and made many new friends of our kin and have had the privilege to travel and stand with them as brothers and sisters.

Tindir who has already been mistaken as a blood brother and Lady Amorith who displayed skill on my journey to Imladris that I have rarely seen. Matters of the heart have troubled me of late, but I dare not speak of them, perhaps when I return I will seek your council I will not speak of what I sense lest I be misunderstood. I must confess of all the dwellings in this land Imladris holds a special place for me already, it is a place of peace and rest, and most of all a warm welcome.

I will shortly be journeying to Moria to aid an expedition that the dwarven folk have embarked on, I have already heard many tales of the legends and horrors of deeps that dwell within the mountain, yet I will be of good courage. I will write again once I have returned from the mountains. Your loving Son Earinlin
