A Second Letter to Mr. Reymund Appelby, 1 Harrow Road, Barleywick

This letter is posted, by Brablo himself, to 1 Harrow Road in Barleywick. It is addressed to Reymund Appelby, so may be found (upon arrival) in his possession. The unstamped envelope bears Brablo's seal upon it. On the other side is written:

MR. REYMUND APPELBY

1 HARROW ROAD

BARLEYWICK

The letter reads:

Mr. Reymund Appelby,

I must admit that I was rather bemused when finding the notice posted on your gate. Taking a holiday to Bree! Suffice to say that I have not heard of that before. When I was a young scholar like yourself, studying in the Brandy Hall, my research brought me to Bree for a month. I should very much like to hear the latest tidings from the village from you some time. But there is no cause to apologise, for friends (even those living at such a distance) are more valuable than all the gold in the world.

Much like yourself, I too am most eager for you to begin your work in the library. There are a number of very old (some might say ancient) scripts dating back to the founding days. It would be most pleasing to me to have your own interpretation on them. As you might expect, the language in them is rather complicated. Though not foreign, the writing is rather archaic and is difficult to decipher at places. I shall provide you with more information when we next meet.

I am intrigued to hear about the book you are currently working on, and would be gladdened to be able to read and provide any such feedback. Peer reviewing is an important element of writing, as I am sure you are well aware. I myself am currently in the process of writing a number of essays, and would welcome you to read and comment upon them.

Welcome home,

Brablo Boffin, Barleywick
