Childhood

"Our daughter..our Fengdiel" Randwulf said to his wife Hrodwyn as he had come into the bedroom of their house on the farm he owned outside Snowbourn. Outside the first winter storm was showing its worst side with heavy winds along with a thick snowfall. Earlier that day Raundwulf and his farmhands had secured the farmhouses and the stable for this storm. The years passed on and Fengdiel grew up to be a beautiful young girl, loved by all the farmhands and her mother and father who she loved over everything else, apart from her horse, her father had given her when she turned fifteen and a man as well..a man she had met the same year she would turn sixteen, a man her father and mother liked as well.

Fengdiel started to dream of a life with her man, who was just a few years older than her but he loved her and when she turned sixteen he and Fengdiel went out on a ride for the day, a day that would change her life. The day started as all days had, she got up early and helped her father out, and in secret watched him as he trained with his men, for Randwulf was not an ordinary farmer, he served in the Rohirrim and Fengdiel loved to watch her father train his men. And she watched him closely for she wanted to be a shieldmaiden herself. Very well aware of his daughter watching Randwulf smiled for him self, he had seen her even if she thought he had not so he laughed and called to her "No need to hide Feng..come here and let me see what you have picked up." Surprised by her father Fengdiel stepped up and took up a sword and sparred with her father until her man came and they rode out.

They found a abandoned barn, still with hay in the loft, there she gave herself to her man, enjoying the pleasure with him making her his Fengdiel felt so happy and they both promised not to say anything to anyone yet and they rode back after many hours, it was starting to get dark as they saw fire..urging her steed on Fengdiel rode as fast as she could and reached the little hill not a hundred meters from the farm..the farm was burning, men was fighting around the grounds of it, by the stables, the farmhouses and the big house where her family lived. Terrified she rode down and pulled her sword and started to look for her father, her man not far behind her. She found her father, in a hand to hand combat with a large Dunlending and she watched with horrified eys as the larger of the m drove his sword into her father.

Her father, the man in her life she loved more than anything else no stood on his knees, a sword in his chest as the larger man walked into the house and shortly after came out, Hrodwyn on his shoulder, who appeared to be lifeless,  Fengdiel could not belive what she saw, her father, her mother, her life was going up in flames infront of her, Fengdiel took a hard grip of her sword and charged and fought like a wild woman, her man watched as she fought side by side with the farmhands and soldiers of her father but no matter what they did, the Dunlenders drove them back. Randwulf watched his daughter fight with  such fire  that he laughed for himself before collapsing on the ground, at this moment the Dunlenders began to retreat, bodies were filling the stable grounds but Hrodwyn was gone, taken by the Dunlenders and Randwulf laying lifeless on the ground, Fengdiel found him and pulled her into her arms, brushing her hand over his cheek but he was gone. She started to cry as a soldier came to her "My lady Fengdiel, this is not a place to be now, come..let me take you to the safety of Snowbourn, your father told me to take you there if anything would happen, he wanted you to become a shieldmaiden." Fengdiel could not say a word as the soldier helped her up on her feet and to her horse and he mounted it and helped her up and rode off with her to Snowbourn, somewhere on the grounds to the farm her fiancé stood, not knowing where she was.

In Snowbourn she was trained to become a shield maiden and she stayed for many years but when she turned twenty two she left Snowbourn with the lady she served and travelled to Bree land, her fiancé found her in Snowbourn and in Bree but she has not seen him since and now she fears the worst but she has also accepted it and is slowly moving on with her life.
