A Poem about Differences

in

There, sat at a back
Is a lad with long hair
It's down to his legs
As he's sat in the chair
And all of us stare
But why should we care
If he has long hair?

And there is a lass
Who is dressed all in grey
Her clothes are quite drab
And all the folk say
"Oh, why dress that way?"
But why should they care
If that's what she wears

And there is a hobbit
Who is really quite tall
And one over there
Who is especially small
And odd names they are called
But why should we care
When they're standing there

There's even a stranger
With rings through his ears
And a stud in his nose
He looks rather queer
And many folk sneer
But why should we care
If he's not out to scare

We may be all different
But we're also the same
For life's would boring
If we played the same game
We're all hobbits by name
And we all should care
And be friends everywhere
