Chronicle Summary
The recollection of tales of Eorland's youth in the Mark, and his journeys in exile into Dunland and Bree-land. The tellings are oft short, and only in part, but here are they as heard by his closest companions, in something resembling entirety.

—The Wanderer
Here is the early life of Eorland the Bowman, first amongst his brothers and sisters in the Mark, and then in Dunland as an eardstapa, a wanderer, amongst exiles and outlanders.
The Exiles
Eorland (Helvarch) — A hunter wrongly exiled from the Mark, and a proud son of Eorl, ever yearning to return. Sixteen upon meeting Offa and Wynn.
Offa (Delwyn) — A swift runner from the Stonedeans familiar with the customs of Dunland. A quick-tongued singer of bawdy songs, and a thief. He lacks his right hand. Eighteen upon meeting Eorland.
Wynn (Gwyneth) — The daughter of Dunlending immigrants to the Stonedeans in Rohan, exiled for horse-theft. Caught more than once, her right arm ends after her elbow. Seventeen upon meeting Eorland.
