The Red Company has been asked to help Rohan in its war agains Isengard and we have answered.
Some of our most seasoned members have gone to Rohan, to deal with the traitor and his army. Our leader, Adilyr, and our newly appointed officer Arstelle, have gone to the land of the horse-lords alongside with Aldbein, Helrenthrad, Prithbo, Nanteana, Ancthan, Cembur and myself, Diringul. We left Bree with our beloved officer Meriya, Theogorn and Fallburg. They will stay in Bree and watch over her surroundings with the rest of our kin, while we're fighting in the south.
Theogorn accompanied us to the border with Lone-lands and there bade us good-bye. Meriya stayed with us for the first part of our journey.
Arstelle lead us to the top of Amon-Sul, where we made our first break. There Prithbo and I were told to go scout the road ahead for the next part of our journey. The road was safe, while the surrounding hills were teeming with orcs. We did not have the time to deal with them, however, so we made our way fast to Ost Guruth. There we made our stop to resupply and gather our strength.
And so, with our newly-acquired provisions, we went on further east, across the Last Bridge and into Trollshaws. We rode swiftly towards the Fords of Bruinen where we made another pause, while Arstelle went to scout ahead after she had told us a tale of Helegrod. We had waited a good while for her return and as she hadn't come back, we went looking for her downstream.
We couldn't find any traces of her by the river and so we had to continue our journey to Eregion without her. Fortunately, it seemed we had gone a different way than she did, for she met up with us in Gwingris, where we made our final stop before reaching Durin's gate.
The wilderness of Eregion has become wild since the fall of Ost-in-Edhil and the death of Celebrimbor and his people. We took a shorter path off road and had to fend ourselves against some wolves and even goats but we all got through it without much harm.
Now the first part of our road is done and Meriya will return to Bree to safeguard it, while we rest for the night. On the morrow, we go into the darkness where orcs will be the least of our concerns.
