Oh, let me give to you
A truly special gift
A gift to make you happy
To give your heart to lift
For it's the time of year
To give but not receive
I'll offer you this present
Before its time to leave
So, will it be a picture
To put upon your wall?
A portrait of a dragon?
You'll hang it in your hall!
Or maybe I've been baking
Some food for you to eat?
A pie, or maybe biscuits
That taste so very sweet?
Now, hobbits do like crafting
So are there gifts of tools
To make yourself a table
Or just a little stool?
Or will it be some flowers
And other garden shrubs?
To give some herbs and spices?
Don't spill them on the rug!
Perhaps it will be clothing
You could look could in that
A cloak of many colours?
You'd love a fancy hat!
Or will I give you treasures
All forged in days of old?
But, no! The gift I'm offering
Is not of bronze or gold
The present I have given
I told you at the start
It was to make you happy
It was to lift your heart
There is no better present
The gift of happiness
For smiles on other's faces
That gift is truly best
