Time of Event
The tenth day of December, likely mid-day.
Where
Right in the square of Bree, near the boar fountain.
Persons involved
Hilfar, reporter of the crime.
Unknown Suspect 1: Older man. Ragged brown, and red apparel. Grey mutton chops, Smooth, calm, almost noble voice. Likely the 'brains' of the operation. (Not too bright, but brighter than the other man)
Unknown Suspect 2: 'Gondorian' appearance. Likely not too bright, dark of hair, trimmed beard. He wore similar, ragged and aged clothes, and seemed only interested in Gondorian trinkets
Rundown
It has been reported that the two men listed above attempted armed robbery of Longbeard trading company (A company that I would hate for the village to be without). Although their attempt at robbery was a failure, and there are no charges pressed for this, the two suspects lead a number of Longbeard caravan guards (who were in pursuit) into a trap, consisting of an unknown number of Brigands located out in the Chetwood.
Two gate wardens do confirm that these two men did bolt through the gate, with the guardsmen in pursuit. As for why they did not act, their testimonies are fuzzy, but they have already received a slap on the wrist each for their narrow mindedness in not halting these proceedings.
Course of Action
-ALL- watchers need to be on watch for these men. They will likely act suspicious around the watch, and given the nature of many brigands and bandits around here, they will likely be simply caught in an inn (Robbing an event in broad daylight also implies heavily towards stupidity, so don't overestimate them).
Take in anyone fitting to these descriptions, asking them very kindly to cooperate, so we can remove any doubt of their suspicion. If they resist, they are likely the culprit, or the culprit of something else.
Once these men are taken in for their crimes, and their identities confirmed by Hilfar, the tradesman, they will face heavy penalty.
