I was wandering in the wilderness, past Bree and the swamps laying at its east. I was traveling in the dark, lurking around orcs, wargs, spiders and creeping ones, My arrows were taking their toll among the evil-doers and feeding myself from the wild animals roaming these hills. Alone on my way with no particular aim, I enjoyed the inner calm of traveling this way.
One evening, I reached a noisy building, gathering place of hideous faces and fur-wearing peoples. I have been alone for so long that the smell of others, the burning oil in the lamp, the giggles and the loud speaking were at first pain for my senses.
In one corner of the main room, not so far from the firepit, I met a man, whose business was completing mine. He bought my bunches of furs with shiny coins and we shared a meal. He was quite talkative, and from him I learnt the name of the place. It is called the Forsaken Inn, an abandoned tavern on the eastern road from Bree. I had never heard that name so I inquired to my companion about the location of such a place.
"This is the Lone-lands, m'am" he said and he added then "The people here are cautious of foreigners, for their care much for their own business and would not that anyone could spy their best spots."
This arose a bit my curiosity, as such a language was common among mushroom-gatherers but of such plants I hadn't seen much in my errands in the surrounding hills. With my keen eyes and my habits of traveling along the animals' trails, I would have stumbled upon them for sure.
"Of what business do you talk about?" I replied. "Is there any kind of valuable mushrooms that grows in well-hidden areas?"
He laid back on his chair while laughing out loud.
Many eyes turned toward us all of a sudden, waiting for the answer of the merchant.
"No .. no" were his first words, as he slowly caught back his breath. "If you want to trade in lost trinkets of old ages, you can buy some here."
The crowd turned back again to her own business, leaving us continue our conversation.
"Talk to that guy over there, Gadaric Munce." he mentioned, heaving his chin toward the man. "If you want to know of this place and be welcome here, start talking to this one."
As my meal was near completion, I finished it, nodding to the merchant.
I stood up from my chair and headed toward the boss of the Inn, as he looks to be.
