Bail and fines can be paid by other folk than the offender, such as associates and good citizens. As long as the crime is paid for.
OOC note: (( We don't intend to kill any characters or inflict a serious amount of bodily harm without OOC consent to the act from the player of the character. And jail-time sentences can be negotiated OOC-ly if the situation calls for it. ))
- Assault.
Simple bar-brawling and typical scuffles will result in an arrest and then a 10 silver bail opportunity. If the fine cannot be paid, the law-breaker will spend the day in jail to pay for their crime.
Like theft, repeated assault will result in an increased fine or jail time sentence up one day per 10 silver, and 10 silver up to a maximum of 50 silver.
Assault on a watcher will result in an immediate jump to 50 silver bail after arrest, if the bail cannot be paid then the offender will spend the maximum sentence of days in jail.
The severing of a limb, ruthless beating, carving of flesh, torture, or any sort of unnecessary harsh violence beyond simple fighting could result in the case being classified as attempted murder.
Wanted criminals present in the arrests will not be given standard sentence, and will receive full punishment for other crimes on-top of current crimes.
The victim of the crime can choose not to condemn the criminal, which will result in no jail-time or bail.
- Attempted Murder.
Attempted murder will result in imprisonment without bail for a duration determined by the Captain.
Wanted criminals present in the arrests will not be given standard sentence, and will receive full punishment for other crimes on-top of current crimes.
The victim of the crime can choose not to condemn the criminal, which will result in no jail-time or bail.
- Murder.
Will result in jail-time for a duration determined by the Captain, or death by hanging.
Wanted criminals or accomplices involved with the crime will not be given standard sentence, and will receive full punishment for other crimes on-top of current crimes.
- Blackmail.
Blackmail will be punished by a 10 to 100 silver fine depending on the severity of the Blackmail. If the fine cannot be paid, it will result in imprisonment without bail for a duration determined by the Captain.

- Bribery.
Bribery like Blackmail, will be punished by a 10 to 100 silver fine depending on the severity of the Bribe. If the fine cannot be paid, it will result in imprisonment without bail for a duration determined by the Captain.

- Escaping or attempting an escape from jail.
Escaping or attempting an escape from jail will result in imprisonment without bail for a duration determined by the Captain.

- Theft.
Theft will result in a 10 silver fine on the first count, if the fine cannot be paid the offender will be arrested for the duration of one day in jail.
This fine increased by 10 silver each count for a maximum of 40 silver for standard theft attempts, and each 10 silver is one day in jail if the fine cannot be paid. So if the offender has 30 silver, they may pay off three days jail-time and spend only one day in jail.
However, more severe cases of theft such as golden busts, Precious gems, Horses, will result in much steeper fines appropriate to the item, if not able to pay the thief will then spend a duration of jail-time determined by the Captain.

- Threat on life.
Threats such as theses, like Blackmail & Bribery, will be punished by a 10 to 100 silver fine depending on the severity of the threat. If the fine cannot be paid, it will result in imprisonment without bail for a duration determined by the Captain.

- Rape.
Will result in jail-time for a duration determined by the Captain, or death by hanging.

- Possession of Poison in bree.
Will be punished by a 10 to 100 silver fine, and the conviscation of the poison which is to then be destroyed. If the fine cannot be paid, it will result in imprisonment without bail for a duration determined by the Captain.

- Escaping or attempting to escape questioning or arrest.
Like escaping or attempting to escape jail, escaping or attempting an escape from questioning or arrest will result in imprisonment without bail for a duration determined by the Captain if the suspect has successfully illuded questioning or arrest for more than one day.
Wanted criminals present in the arrest will not be given standard sentence, and will receive full punishment for other crimes on-top of current crimes.
If the suspect is not guilty of anything, and simply evaded questioning, the fine is a mere 10 copper to 10 silver depending on the judgment of the watcher.
- Vandalism.
Damage to the personal property of an owner without consent will result in jail-time suiting to the amount of damage caused, or a bail suited to the damage caused. The owner of the property can choose not to press charges, which will result in no jail-time or bail.

- Kidnapping.
Taking someone to another location or forcibly removing them from a location, or using force to take them to another place without consent will result in a 50 silver fine or three days in jail.

- Illegal gambling.
Any gambling which rises higher than one gold can be considered an illegal gambling ring or operation, and is finable by an amount equal to the illegal gambling funds, resulting in a days sentence for each individual involved.

- Smuggling.
Smuggling illegal items, materials, and criminals will result in a fine appropriate to the severity of the crime, if the fine cannot be paid the crime will be paid off in jail for a duration determined by the Captain.
- Fencing.
Buying or selling stolen goods will result in a standard 10 silver fine for each stolen item, the seizing of all profits made from the stolen goods, the seizing of all stolen goods, and a night in jail with a 35 silver bail. More valuable stolen merchandise will have appropriate fines to it's worth.
If none of the fines can be paid, the price will be paid with time in jail by duration determined by the Captain. The stolen items cannot be used to pay the fines, nor can the profits. However the offenders own coin can.
