A Leathery Journal - (25th entry) A peace well paid for

Oh I have great news, lad. Something great beyond measure. The contract has been concluded.

A contract that has been bothering me for what seems like an eternity seems to finally have concluded with compensation by Dernwynn, she pays off the bounties and no one gets hurt. This little contract has been a pain ever since Geirdrifa handed it to the Dawn, and has been increasingly troublesome as it moved forward... First of all, Dernwynn seems to have beguiled half a hundred men to fight her wars, she might just be the smartest woman I know, cunning beyond due measure, but I like her and I hope our friendship can continue now that the animosity between us has been lifted. We were almost nearing a conclusion not long ago, before my own daughter was kidnapped by some of them.. Apparently they told Taala that I ordered it.. Though she has gotten that notion out of her head, she is not as confident in me as she used to, seems her and Dernwynn have been talking about what I feel about her, and whether Dernwynn has relayed the truth, I cannot know. Then today, I find out the loyalty of Nelly and Geirdrifa is paper thin.. Taking a contract that might entail fighting Dawners themselves.. I do not know what to do yet, but I have half a mind to tear their contracts.. And then I find out Fiontann and Nellye are having problems.. I told them to either leave each other or work it out.. I do not want a lovers quarrel wounding the company.. but I have granted them a trip so that they may find their love again.. Oh who knows what will happen.. I am just happy that this contract is done... So much trouble over some halfwits in a forest that I do not even know of having done any crimes except the kidnapping of my daughter..

Oh but I shall close you again, my little leathery friend. You must be growing half as mad as me by now, so I shall not force it on you any further.
