Branston's Journal - Wil

You had another visitor today, Wil, my dear friend and stable hand.  I suppose many may think Wil works for me, but I prefer to say that we work together, for without his hard work and support I would not have the horse farm to leave to you should you wish it.  Wil is Eorl as I am, he is a former scout for the Riders of the Mearc and has suffered much because of war.  I shall not speak of it in this journal as it's his account to tell if he will.  In recognition of his devotion, I have gifted him two tenths of my farm, a business that is prospering.  You may choose a different path my boy, but whatever path that may be, tread it wisely and with determination.  It is my hope, that if I can provide for you, you may never have to lie, cheat, blackmail or steal as I had to when I arrived in Bree.

Wil can be rather surly and curt at times, it is just his way, often there is a mischevious twinkle in his eye when he scolds me.  It still amuses me that on our first meeting, Wil took a dislike to me, he found me brash and common, but now he is my confidant, his quality more than proven and he shall be known from this moment forth as your uncle.
