Blood and Fights

Annsuel walked through the Pony silently, when she saw a chair broken on the ground outside a shut door in the back.  She knocked on the door, but no one came to it.  When she checked the nob, she found it was unlocked, and she pushed her way inside with a good friend, Jegauer, behind her.  There was a man standing over another man named Aadan.  His hand around the Aadan's throat as the man dragged him towards the window.  Annsuel attempted words, but none would work as the man dragged Aadan out the window.  Annsuel leapt after them, landing in a roll before a chase began.

Acaeleus was the man's name, though Annsuel never learned the name in her encounter with him.  A fight broke out between Acaeleus and Annsuel, but then a friend of Acaeleus whose name Annsuel did not learn joined in.  Luckily, Annsuel had two men fighting behind her.  The fight lasted, though Magaeus's spear stabbed into Annsuel's side and broke her rib at the same time her knife cut through the skin on his arm.  Annsuel retreated, leaving the fight to be fought by the other two men as she stood over Aadan's unconscious body.

In the end of the fight, Annsuel had aimed her knife, and met her target in Acaeleus's leg, but her body could not take the loss of blood from her wound.  She fell to her knees and accepted defeat.  She felt ashamed of failing as Acaeleus and Magaeus captured Aadan.  Though their was nothing she could do, and she could not bring the death to her friends.

Defeat, Annsuel hated accepting it.  Though not every fight is one you can win.  Though Annsuel knew she had to have the courage to keep fighting, there will always come a day when you are not strong enough.  Though emptiness and shame could not help but fill Annsuel.  She was alive, that was good, but she still failed.  She was still defeated.
