Being the Better Man

Being the Better Man

Writen by Blince

As Warrence sat upon the chair in his study, one arm leant against the armrest of the chair and the other clutching the side of his head, his mind was no where near himself at the moment.

It was on that of his Fiance, Aellwenn. And the child of which was in her presently, that of Levarris'. She'd cheated on him, but that wasn't what was on his mind at this very present moment. His gaze was directed at a paper from Aellwenn's elders in Rohan of what Warrence wished to do with the child.

He could order it to be killed, in the name of respect for his house. But he'd much rather die than the child.

It could be sent to Levarris, and regarded as nothing more than 'his' bastard child, not Aellwenn's.

Or it could be brought into his, House Estellin. And live as any child would under them.

None of these he would take wholly. The main reason being - It wasn't the child's fault. That innocent little soul could never have picked this. Nor could it wish for anything but having two parents.

So that's what Warrence set out to make happen. With the quill in hand, he fiercely jotted down his commands of what would happen within his family.

He ordered the child to be kept in equal between Aellwenn, and Levarris. Though the child would take their name, and remain as any bastard child would within their halls, and Levarris may see or take the child should he wish as long as it was returned.

He sent that off, and had a copy made by his squire to be placed next to Aellwenn's bed while she slept. He would continue to work on the house, and would stay in the guest room until he felt right enough to be with her in full again.

As he barked orders to those helping arrange the furniture his squire came up to him and asked why he made the decision he did. He looked to the squire, and said only one thing.

"The child will not suffer because Aellwenn and Levarris couldn't keep it between their legs."
