Today I've decided to write about my family; perhaps to look at when I grow older.
I'll begin with maybe the most influential person in my life, my sister Allistur. She's an amazing person, though most are intimidated by her personality. They just haven't gotten to know her. Alli - my sister, not my daughter - could be represented by rose. Quite cliché, yes, but that's the exact way to describe her! Once you can handle the thorns, you can appreciate the real beauty that is my darling sister. While she would disagree with me and being compared to a flower, don't be fooled! She isn't one to be messed with. Do so, and there's a very high possibility that you'll end up with an arrow in your eye. I'm not sure how often that's happened, but I'm absolutely sure it's happened at least once.
Next is my sister's namesake, Alli. My daughter is the sun to my world. She is one of the things that's kept me sane these many years. Her smile is like getting a hug from Yavanna herself. She's the brightest little child I've ever met, but I may be just a smidgen prejudice. If not for her, I'm sure that my life would be much different, much worse than it is. I'm happy to call Alli Pate my daughter.
This brings me to my husband. I barely want to speak about him if I can be honest, but why not? If I can't be truthful with myself, who can I be truthful to?
I'm quite angry with him for leaving me, especially when finding out that I was with child. I often wonder how much stress and pain I've endured because he decided to run off without his family. But I must forgive him, because without him my daughter wouldn't be. Though, if I ever saw him again, I'd wring his neck and smack him across the head with my rolling pin.
But enough with these angry thoughts. I should bring this around to my new friends. One - or rather two - that I've met have helped me in more ways than I can ever repay. Little Mouse, Drause is her real name, and Vineleth have been taking care of little Alli for me while I must do errands. It takes a rather large load off of my shoulders. I trust these two so much, if they asked me to do anything, I would do it for them. Alli's description of them makes me smile every time I think of it. Little Mouse is more of a mother-figure to her, while Vinny is more of a father-type, or even an elder sister, figure. Those two darlings, oh I could gush all day!
Oh, and of course I've met another young woman, Rannie is her name. She seems like such a nice girl, it's a shame I haven't gotten to know her better yet. I'll have to invite her over for lunch one of these days.
I've also met a fellow, Idhraun. We've only met once or twice, but I'm sure we could have a wonderful friendship. He's been a bit troubled recently, but I'm doing my best to help him. One of these days, my help is going to pay off and he won't even remember these days!
But I should be ending this. If I continue with all of my acquaintances, well, there wouldn't be enough ink in the world with what I have to say about them. They've all been very kind, and I'm glad that I've been able to come to Bree.
