Fallin' asleep next to a friend

The sun was long set when Marlyn was still cleaning the cuts and scratches he got from that fight.
She didn't want to hurt him, although he had to bite his lips because of the pain.
"Poor him.. I wonder who did that to him.." is what she thought, while her eyes were stuck on his injuries.
"It's almost finished." He nodded, still grimacing in pain.
Marlyn continued her work carefully and placed the mush of herbage on his wounds:
"It'll help the wound." Her fingers were massaging his back a bit to comfort him.
"Alright, it's done. Just lie down and get some rest.. Sleep well."
He stopped her and smiled as usual, thanking her for her help.
"I don't want you to sleep elsewhere as in your bed. This chair here is just fine for me."
"No, you should rest on the bed and I'll sleep near the fireplace."
"Stubborn as usual- let us share the bed then."
He offered her another smile.
A surprised face and a blush followed but they would soon find each other on the bed together, saying good-night to the other.
She turned her back to him after a while and felt his calm and constant breath in her neck.
This was the first time, that it didn't bother her to be close to someone.

It didn't bother her at all.
