Quineven huffed quietly, staring up at the canopy of her bed. No crickets were chirping, but the sounds of the songbirds told her it was early morning. Turning over, to face her husbands side of the mattress, Quineven now realized he wasn't next to her.
"He must be out and about again.. But this early?"
Not bothering to question where he was, she slid out of bed to start her morning. Cooking, cleaning, baking, and sewing were on her mental list of things to do. Oh, and to travel to the Dawnhall to see Nimeway or Neyaa! Or Quineven thinks she will.. Yeah she will. If she has time that is.
After she made herself a breakfast of warm oats and honey, she straightened the house, making sure everything looked in place. Then onto her sweeping, which took a bit longer since someone kept knocking on the door, then no one was there. Finally, on the tenth knock she looked at the door! It was a black and red woodpecker! Quineven laughed for a moment, then shooed the bird away.
After that, she baked a few pies, muffins and started a meal for lunch.. Maybe her husband would be home by then.
It was around noon, when she sat down near the fire to sew. With a child on the way, she thought to herself, I might as well start to make a few swaddling clothes.. It was tedious act, taking hours to do. But it was worth it in the end.
Her husband finally came home around supper time, and lunch became supper. Potatoes, carrots and some venison in a stew. Pretty good. Her husband talked with her, they shared a few embraces, before it was time to settle in for bed. That went by quickly, and soon Quineven was staring back at the canopy, before all she saw was the insides of her eyelids, and she was asleep.
