As soon as she set foot in the yard, they were bounding up to her and knocking around her legs, sniffing curiously. Teleny's laughter rang through the crisp night air. "Alright, alright. I missed you guys, too!" She traipsed up the steps, pulled the key from under the doormat, and unlocked the door while the dogs hounded after her. Entering the warmth of Rossethor and Nimeway's new home, she sighed and let herself relax. Yet, Baloo and Molly had other ideas, chiefly, playing.
As she took her next step, Baloo jumped on his hind legs to paw her back and Molly walked in front of her asking to be petted. The three separate movements resulted in a clumsy dance, leading to a tangle of legs and finally a great crash of human and canine bodies on the wooden floor.
Teleyn cringed and giggled, looking at her arms flopped on Molly's head and Baloo's side and her legs covered by Baloo's paws and Molly's stomach. The two began licking her face, content that Teleyn had finally stopped to say hello to them. She sighed and gave in to their affections. Giving them the attention they craved, Teleyn patted their heads, scratched behind their ears, and planted kisses on their noses. After some minutes, Baloo and Molly rose, seemingly satisfied.
Teleyn glared at the two mischief-makers playfully before reaching over to grab her two books, which had fallen to the floor with her. She stood, holding the books to her chest. "Fiontann helped me find books on music and dancing at the library today. Wasn't that nice of him?" she asked, her eyes crinkling with a smile.
Baloo and Molly wagged their tails at her, happy with whatever she said at the moment since she had played with them. Brushing past the pair, Teleyn traipsed over to the map on the wall. She pointed her index finger towards it and looked at the dogs. "All of this is called Arda. Did you know that?" She beamed, quite pleased that she at least had this piece of knowledge.
Resting her finger on a point on the Eastern side of the map, she continued sharing all that she had learned in the past two days. "Ross says there's a really beautiful place called Rivendell here." She gave a pointed look at Molly and Baloo to make sure they were listening.
Satisfied, she continued, "Fiontann says that the elves live there and only sing the fairest songs and play the fairest music." Teleyn turned to the map and sighed with a dreamy look in her eyes. "Maybe they'll teach me..." she whispered as if speaking her dreams aloud would shatter the possibility of letting them come true.
With a wistful sigh, she turned towards the spare bedroom. Setting her books on the chair and pulling off her dress, she prepared for bed and slipped under the warm covers. Molly nestled herself next to Teleyn's body and Baloo curled up at the foot of the bed. Bestowing them each a kiss on their noses, she sank into the pillow.
"Night, night," she mumbled before drifting into sleep.
