Background
Gerwolf hails from the south-eastern fringes of Gondor, near the border to the far-eastern lands of Rhun and Harad, between the lands of Pelargir and Harondor, embedded in the borders of Southern Ithilien. His family entitlement: "Thalanduin" means "Rampant River" in Sindarin. This title was chosen by the progenitors of the House, inspired by the proximity of the River Anduin to the lands so owned by the noble family. The noble house garnered most of its wealth importing goods such as Silk and Gold from the East, where such materials are abundant. This region of Gondor was rife with dangers, skirmishes happened all too often within the lands so held by House Thalanduin. This meant that House Thalanduin was well accustomed to defending its lands and its people from the marauding bands from the East.
Gerwolf's father was a tyrant of a man, he treated the people he ruled as cattle. Sadistic games of starvation and outrageous taxes are but two ways he poorly treated his people. Upon his upbringing, Gerwolf viewed his father as a role-model. As any Eldest son would. His father spent resources abundant to give Gerwolf a good education. Having him mentored relentlessly within the art of combat and with implementing various conducts of strategy. Though all was not easy for Gerwolf during his upbringing. For one day, when Gerwolf was that of twenty three. His father demanded he leaves the doors of his estate to become a man. Gerwolf's faith in his father's character and love for his son was diminished with such a dismissal from his home, feeling like he had disappointed his father to have been treated like such.
So Gerwolf rode north with his loyal squire Pilcott. Deigning it upon himself to explore the world beyond the borders of his home to one day return to his family's home tempered by experience, maturity, wisdom and knowledge.
Gerwolf's journey was one of discovery. His road eventually lead him to Bree where he met that of Ivlathdur Taggline. Ivlathdur saw Gerwolf for his initial prude and arrogant mannerisms and promptly floored him within the tavern of the Prancing Pony. Humbled by this and outraged. Gerwolf sought to hold the man responsible for attacking him. The confrontation ended up with Gerwolf once again being shown humility, but Ivlathdur saw a spark within the personality of the young man. He took Gerwolf under his wing and sought to train him within that of the creed and discipline of the Taggline rangers.
Gerwolf trained with Ivlathdur for many months, their journey taking the pair far and wide. With Ivlathdur pushing Gerwolf to his very limits mentally and physically throughout to prepare him for the realities of the Third Age, with darkness threatening to swallow civilization as they know it. Upon returning to Bree, Gerwolf was poisoned by that of a group of Haradrim. His drink purchased from the bar have being laced by a toxin with the intention to reduce the young nobleman to a corpse. Through the next week Gerwolf's life was on the very edge of ending. It was during such times he met Addiel, of whom was working as a Barmaid for Barliman within the tavern. She, alongside Quineven and Ivlathdur brought Gerwolf back to health. But upon such a time, Gerwolf was smitten by the personality and kindness shown by Addiel. So thus sought to earn that of her affection.
Though all was not well during the time of his recovery, for upon his recovery a missive was sent from Gondor proclaiming that his family's estate was no more. The common folk under the Lordship of his father revolted, outraged with his Father's treatment of them. The riots lead to the complete destruction of his family's estate and the members of Gerwolf's family; He became the last living Thalanduin.
Addiel stayed strong for him during his lowest times, cementing their bond as their affections for one another grew ever stronger.
Gerwolf, being of Noble blood had no small amount of collateral in coin at his disposal. He used such financial security to purchase land within Bree-land and built himself an Estate.
Gerwolf lives his life under the conduct of the seven knightly virtues: Courage, Justice, Mercy, Generosity, Faith, Nobility and Hope. Fully intending to spread such virtues of life to the lands of Bree. He raised his family's Banner of a Blackmaned Wolf howling at a full moon and proclaimed that House Thalanduin shall reside within Breeland to help where they can upon the defense and welfare of the local populace.
Being the last of the line of House Thalanduin. He has the intention to clear his tarnished family's name. To try and repair the damage his Father had dealt and create a new page in the saga of House Thalanduin. One of which would be a prominent beacon of virtue with the ensuing darkness threatening to swallow the world.
