Mhel's musings - 3

I spent much of yesterday in the company of Lord Khyron. He insists that I do not use his title, but even if I do not speak it in order to please him, I cannot help thinking it. It was a pleasant meeting all round. He is witty and sharp, yet also convivial, well-mannered and quite gentlemanly. He is also unafraid to make a fool of himself, which is quite a nice change from those I usually meet. In fact, he went so far as to make puppets out of sticks, taters and some rhubarb and treated me to a show with them. His storytelling technique is interesting, to say the least, and by the time he was done there were pieces of tater everywhere, but I really rather enjoyed it. He is a shameless flatterer, however, which I find to be quite off-putting. It seems to me that he is going through the motions, so to speak, rather than giving any genuine compliment. I think it is in his nature to flirt with anything vaguely female, whether or not he realises what he is doing. I find myself carrying that little trinket from Yarassi wherever I go. It is a beautiful piece and I take it out often simply to look at it. I really should find a shelf to place it upon for safekeeping. I would hate to lose that along with whatever silly hopes I had for him. Putting it aside would be much more fitting, however.
