Captain Siward

Son of Aelfred and Mildryth

Born March 2985 T.A. at the family home in Edoras.

Service Notes

2999 T.A. Begins service under Captain Aelfred recently having taken command from his brother, Ceneric.

3000 T.A. Faces trial for affair with a captain's wife, fifty lashes of the whip administered having been found guilty.

3001 T.A. Commended for fighting prowess and comradery, bravery against the odds against marauding Uruk-Hai warband along the great west road, not far from the Gap of Rohan with Éored only at quarter strength.

3003 T.A. Given the captaincy upon the retirement of the aging Aelfred at the young and tender age of eighteen, officially responsible for a good hundred and twenty fighting men.

3003 T.A. - 3005 T.A. Leads a small succession of unconventional raids into Dunlending territory, his actions eliciting mixed responses with concern as to the brutality of the ventures and the sobriety and conduct of he and some of his men with a small number of word-of-mouth reports from the Westfold villages reaching the ear of King and court.

3005 - 3008 T.A. Conduct is again brought into question for 'inappropriate' behaviour in the villages of the Folde, three year long inquest ending without punishment and rank is retained.

3008 - 3012 T.A. Heavy criticisms continue, accusations of flaunting station and acting out of jurisdiction as well as of roguery, 'drunken, coarse and vile behaviour' levelled and he is threatened with revokation of Captaincy, a court martial narrowly rules against this.

3013 T.A. - 3016 T.A. Awarded honours for continued skirmishing against Dunlending and Uruk-Hai warbands, revoked by surprise direct intervention and inquest into unruly behaviour ordered by Grima Wormtongue.

3016 T.A.  Killed at border skirmish near the Fords of Isen, Éored massacred to the last man with no apparent survivors.
