The Lay of Elena is written upon a parchment held in the Room of Records upon the Third level of the White City. The lay is written in Sindarin, although the dialect is, apparently, of a form uncommon. Only the following passage has yet been translated and the historians have, as yet, been unable to associate the verse with any known historical record or figure.
As eagles fly from the mountain,
The wanderer finds a new path,
Under the stars of twilight,
To Evendim's shores of the north,
How far has the wanderer come?
How long is the road behind?
Who knows but the traveller what he might hope to find.
