Eregion part 1 - A new fellowship

As the sun slowly rises in the Trollshaws valley, the new fellowship was making themselves ready for departure. Daellas still had a hard time believing that Leofmund and Wulfreda went out looking for them. He knew Wulfreda from other expeditions, in the cold weather of Forochel she had proven herself as a strong and versatile woman. Leofmund he did not know at all, he was quite new and stubborn to bring his horse along. Nonetheless, the company was eager to depart.

The first challenge was crossing the Bruinen river, which seemed to be quit deep. After looking in vein for a shallow part, they had to ask the fisherman Garbert for one more favour, to use his boat.

Crossing the Bruinen

After using the boat the company made its way up the ridge that led to Eregion lands. At first they encountered another forest and stone paths that went into various directions. As these were unknown lands to all of them, they decided to walk into the cover of the forest. After a few miles in the forest, there were cracking sounds of bending branches. Daellas was frozen solid as he saw a tree move all by its own. The reactions of the others were similar. Daellas thought it was a form of evil sorcery and they ran back to the main road which they deemed safer than the forest. Restless the party moved through the forest paths, hearing some trees move around them.

At the end of the forest, great grass plains stretched out before them. They discussed which road to take. Walking out in open field on unknown plains did not seem to be a good idea, neither were the forests which clearly seemed haunted. The group found a dried-up river leading south. This river path provided good cover for the company, so they walked it.

After hours of walk most of them were very hungry. Leofmund and Arunel hunted a boar. They found a good place to start a fire near a large rock that would cover the smoke. Wulfreda turned the boar into a kings meal. Daellas felt very content with this new company. Leofmund proved to be a very pragmatic and cunning man, which seemed familiar with making campfires. Wulfreda can make a meal out of anything, all skills that both brothers seem to lack. But most of all, they acted like unified group with good spirit. After sharing food and a good laugh the company set forth in the dry river path.

At the end of the day when the sun was setting they reached the end of the dry river path. At the end they found a wild flowing river (Glanduin). Feeling weary and dirty the company decided to wash and bath in a silent part of the river. Here they stayed for the night.
