Lone lands - Leaving it all behind.

The green grass did not seem to last as they came closer to the borders of what is known as the Lone-lands. Both brothers were walking at a steady pace, talking about their reckless effort. Daellas did have second thoughts for a few times but did not want to burden his brother with these thoughts. He knew others would feel abandoned by them, maybe even forsake them as oath breakers. Yet the Esquires in Bree land were all strong individuals, but weak in a group, which made Daellas believe he had made the right choice. There is nothing we can do here anymore. Scouting the Gap in secrecy with the man he trusted most has a much higher chance of succes. If they succeed they would send word back to the Esquires, whether they found a safe way or not. With that last thought in mind they were further into the barren lands, walking a bit off the main road.

Suddenly they heard screams for help. Sounded like a womans voice. The brothers ran towards a gap in the hills which leads to old ruins called Minas Eriol. The ran into a scene, two cloaked men were standing over a man who was down, and a woman looking desperate. The brothers analysed the situation and quickly grabbed their weapons.

The evil men turned around, darker skinned with swords that the brothers have never seen before. Curved and sharp, the evil men spoke with a strange tongue and were about to kill the man on the ground. Arunel and Daellas managed to attract the attention of the cloaked men who looked eager to fight. The black hooded man went for Daellas while the other attacked Arunel. During the fight, the man on the ground managed to raise him over his horse and escape with the lady. From the accent Daellas heard they were from the Mark as well. The evil men fought with a frenzy, luckily Daellas managed to keep his guard up and thrust his spear into his shoulder an torso, which left him helpless on the ground. The other guy gave more resistance and managed to wound Dael by throwing a javelin in his shoulder. Eventually Arunel managed to knock him out. (OOC: RP battle on /roll system, details will be posted seperately). Leaving the evil men bleeding on the ground, Daellas and Arunel returned to the inn to take care of the wounds. Luckily the javelin did not go very deep, yet his shoulder was hurting a lot. The wound was cleaned and bandaged roughly, they stayed the night in the inn to recover some strength.

The next morning the brothers continued, on a lower pace as the wound on his shoulder was still fresh. They encountered no-one for a long time and the weather was dry and warm. At some points they had to take cover behind rocks as flocks of black birds flew over. Daellas felt proud to have rescued some of their kin from the hands of those evil warriors. This event made Daellas feel that it was the right choice to leave Bree-land. The walked for hours and hours over the barren plains with the sun burning bright.

Finally they reached a river (Hoarwell). They camped there for a while, feeding on rations and refreshing the bandages. Arunel scouted the bridge but it was guarded by elves. Avoiding another confrontation they decided to take a swim. The found a log that would float, as Daellas could not swim with the hurt shoulder. Daellas held on to the log, peddling with his feet, slowly to the other side. They managed to reach the other end, and found aridge to dry their clothes in the sun. Here they rested for a long time.
