Dear Mother and Father,
Such a busy week! The Farmer's Faire has started in Bywater, so hobbits from all over the Shire have gathered to visit and taste the produce. In fact, it's been so busy in Bywater, that the Green Dragon Friday got moved to The Bird and Baby in Michel Delving, just to avoid the crowds. That didn't stop us from having a wonderful time though, and a new two-man band played... the Hillbilly Hobbits I think they were called. They had some lovely toe-tappers.

Some of the food at the Farmer's Faire really is delicious, though I wonder where they manage to get the eggs from, since Sandson's chickens are in a proper tizzy because of some race he's organised. I would never treat my beloved chickens like that! Imagine my poor Elsie fleeing for her life while several hobbits chase her in the hope she lays an egg! So it's no wonder Sandson's chickens are laying bad eggs. The poor things must be completely stressed out.
Jardic went to visit Maggot's Mushroom farm, but soon decided the dogs were too much for him. He prefers his mushrooms closer to home and unguarded. Though I think he enjoyed eating the food at Bywater. On the plus side, I didn't have to cook for him or clean up his dishes.
While he and Rua were having an ale at the Green Dragon, I was helping some of the organisers of the Faire. It was then I met Miss Chicorya. I recognised her face from the Bard's Day Concert and we got to talking. She told me about her dream of opening an inn for all the Free People's to visit and she was so enthusiastic that when she invited me to visit the place, I had to go. It really is set up quite nicely, though she says she is not ready to open officially just yet.

She wants to ask The Shades to play at the opening. She says The Shades are a band of mixed People's; they even have an elf or two! Can you imagine that? I hope she manages to convince them, I don't remember ever having seen them play and it would be interesting to see a band made up of different people than just hobbits. I wonder what sort of music they play? I hope its nice and hobbity! And maybe miss Chicorya would let me play my songs... well, dreams are free!
Your loving Zara
