Alkarwë, whose father is unknown, followed the company of Finwë of the Noldor from the far east in the wake of the Great Hunter. Once settled in Valinor, he came to love Curunen of the Noldor and wedded her in body and spirit. In time they begetted three offspring-- their son, Anarúnya, and two daughters.

Now, Anarúnya bore a fiery heart within him and was easily stirred by the words of Fëanor, but his father stayed him and persuaded their family to instead follow the company of Fingolfin and Fingon. After events of which are told elsewhere, Anarúnya and his father settled with the High King of the Noldor in Hithlum, where Anarúnya fell in love with Yávëwen and they wedded in body and spirit and, during peaceful times, they begot Maluin, their only child. It was not long after Maluin came of age that the seige of Angband was broken and both Alkarwë and Anarúnya were slain along with many of the company of Fingon and Fingolfin, and Alkarwë's sons by marriage as well.

After Fingon ascended the throne in Hithlum, Maluin and his mother Yávëwen, as well as her widowed sisters by marriage, retreated to the Havens in Brithombar, along with a company of Noldor from Hithlum including Fingolfin's son Ereinion. There in the Havens, Maluin fell in love with Neldoreth, whose father was a shipwright of Lord Círdan's. Maluin wedded in body and spirit Neldoreth, and thus introduced the first Telerin blood into the line of Alkarwë.

There they dwelt for many years, but would not beget a child due to the onslaught of Morgoth. Soon came the sack of Brithombar and Eglarest and Maluin and Neldoreth alone escaped to the Isle of Balar with Círdan's people and Ereinion. There, Maluin mourned the loss of his mother, and soon he and his wife beget Menelrond. When his son Menelrond came of age, Maluin joined himself to the ships of Gil-Galad, as did his son. They remained with him while many Noldor returned to dwell on Tol Eressëa.

In time, under the rule of the High King Gil-Galad, Menelrond happened to fall in love with Aelinorn, whom he wedded in body and spirit. In Lindon, soon after the fall of Númenor, they begot Ilmelen, who then, when he came of age, fell in love with Calenim and wedded her in body and spirit.

Soon after, the house of Maluin moved farther south to the Noldor of Eregion, where they then settled under Celebrimbor where they prospered. However, Maluin still grieved the loss of his mother and father, and soon departed for the Undying Lands, leaving Menelrond, his wife, and his son and daughter by marriage. Soon after, Ilmelen begot Lindor, his son, who grew to see the destruction of Eregion by Sauron in which both Menelrond and Ilmelen fought to see Lindor flee, after which they both perished along with their wives. Lindor then followed Elrond Halfelven to the founding of Imladris, where he fell in love with Míreth, a Teleri, and wedded her in body and spirit. They begot Laidhrochir during a time of peace, and then Luinros some time after their first son came of age, as the powers of Arnor and Gondor grew great at the hands of Gil-Galad.

Then came the great host of elves and men, and Lindor followed Elrond and Gil-Galad to battle against Sauron. There, during the final battle against Mordor, he was slain. When Míreth discovered this, she diminished to the west, leaving her two sons.

Some time after this, Laidhrochir came to fall in love with Glínwen and wedded her in body and spirit. Yet, Luinros was jealous and had no love for his brother, and departed Imladris to settle in Lindon, now void of the High King, where he met and fell in love with the Vanyar-blooded Annagil and soon begot his son Rildor. However, Laidhrochir was a wild spirit and found much joy in the company of riders under Elrond. He eventually begot his only son, Luminir, whose birth was difficult on his mother and she soon diminished West. Laidhrochir, overcome with grief, eventually departed as well after his son had come of age, leaving the whole of his house to his heir in Imladris.
