After the Letter

After reading the hobbit's letter, Waldera laughed airily and left the paper aside. Her sweet  laughter echoed through the stairs and the corridor as she walked out of the room.

She turned back to her room and opened the window, her eyes searching for the sight of her beloved. A gentle summer breeze touched on her fair skin. She left the window and opened her wardrobe, reached under a pile of folded clothes and pulled out a black, worn-out jacket. Clearly, it was not hers. The jacket was of a man's attire and worn on the sides due to long time use. She hugged the jacket and began dancing in the room with it. After a few steps she let her body lie on her bed slowly, still happily hugging the jacket.

She left it aside and smiled at herself for she had remembered the time Favarth had told her that he could not find this jacket at his home and thought that he lost it. Truth is, she had grabbed it while leaving his home and Favarth was busy with his patients. Without anyone's notice, Waldera had tucked the jacket under her arm and slipped out of the door. She should return it ere autumn comes, she thought, but shrugged for there was much time until the leaves would turn red and winds North.
