Background

Alastegiel was born to Althir and Valaina in Lothlorien. She had a sister Meleth. They lived long before the Lady Galadriel and the Lord Celeborn came to Lothlorien. Under the rule of Amroth, they were all happy and content. Alastegiel and Meleth were young; they played among the trees and flowers. They would spend most of their time in Cerin Amroth, dancing, singing and picking up the flowers Elanor and Niphredil. For so many years, they remained and grew. Alastegiel loved the world: the trees and the flowers. She would often adventure in Lothlorien, sometimes even beyond. Meleth loved making, she would sew many clothes for Alastegiel, and she would wear it during her adventures.
As the time came when Amroth and Nimrodel were lost, Althir and Valaina were deeply saddened. The light in their eyes vanished. As the days lengthened, they grew weary of what life they had in Middle-Earth. When they could no longer fight it, they went west. Alastegiel was deeply sorrowed as she her parents, and most of all, their eyes. For her, it was not her parents but a shell of who they were. A long time of sorrow came to the sisters, but Meleth recovered quickly. Alastegiel was still hurt, but soon she found solace in her adventures.

They grew happy and content once more during the reign of the Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn. One day, she went farther North and saw the dark fortress of Dol Guldur, she quickly turned away in horror, and she was the land was being corrupted. She went south and went beyond the borders of Lothlorien. She saw then The Brown Lands on the other side of the Anduin. She hastened back in disgust and worry. She weeped at the terrible state of the lands she saw. A darkness crept into her heart, she feared Lothlorien would suffer the same fate. Meleth comforted her sister and as she saw a passion to defend Arda grow within Alastegiel, she counselled her sister to go out and learn whatever she can to use it in the battle to defend Arda.

Alastegiel followed the counsel and ventured into Imladris. There she read many books in the library of Lord Elrond. She learned many things especially those regarding the history of Middle-Earth. The Noldor present in Imladris taught her Quenya. Still, her adventurous spirit brought her to roam and make friends with the animals in the wilderness of the Trollshaws.
At this time also, she was having a troubled time fighting her longing to go back home. She longed once more to see Lothlorien. Her passion and spirit to stay and protect Arda gave way to stand her ground and stay in Imladris. She fought it hard, but she understood her need to stay so that her plan can come into fruition.
Long years passed, and the longing disappeared. She had let go of Lothlorien and grow in wisdom that allowed her to put her longing to sleep, but it did not wholly disappear.
Many years have passed and she grew in wisdom and intellect. Alastegiel went on to use the many things she learned to aid in whatever manner she can to aid Arda from the Shadow of the Enemy.

However, her long years are finally putting her to the test. Memories are resurfacing and she is fraught with sorrow and grief. She struggles to find light to escape her sadness. She may seem whiny, but it is all to remind her of the things she fought for because her belief is that through this she would find strength to continue.

If you are to meet Alastegiel anywhere in Arda, for she travels greatly. You will find her to be cheerful and happy, interested in nearly every subject. Sometimes you may find her thoughtful and melancholy. Otherwise she may be mournful and sorrowful.
She would love to have tea and chat about everything. Tales of far places and lands would interest her greatly. She would also care to give counsel to problems, though not clearly. She would give counsel to whatever path you choose, rarely would she give straight counsel.
Many things may anger Alastegiel, an insult to her kind or the The Lady of Lothlorien. Once she is angry, she is terrifying. She is quite intolerant of insults such as calling The Lady as a "witch". If ever she hears you, trouble may be at your doorstep.
