Rimedur was standing against his pillar in the Prancing Pony, putting some finishing touches on one of his drawings; a sketch of Savela Hawthorn based on very detailed memory. However, he hadn't realized that his very muse had entered the inn. As she walked forward, Rimedur heard her quiet tread upon the stone flooring and he quickly closed his notebook. He was too embaressed to show her his drawings.
She smiled up at him almost mockingly, "Still not showing me your book?" It wasn't that he didn't want to show her, but he didn't know how she night react. He had to be sure. "What have you got to lose you fool," he thought to himself. There seemed to be a mental battle going on in behind his eyes. Finally, he closed his eyes to shut the silvery windows and hesitantly handed Savela his book. "I'll just go... get a drink. You can... take a look if you want," he said as he Savela took the book and he walked over to the counter.
"One apple cider, Barliman." He took out a few silver coins for compensation and placed them on the counter.
"Well well. Finally trying to tell her, eh young master August? Better late than never," Barliman said as he had noticed Rimedur handing over his book. He set up his drink, still talking as he did so. "But I say! You handing over that book must be pretty hard. If you don't mind me saying, you always seem to cling to it. Especially when Miss Hawthorn is near."
Rimedur couldn't help but smile at Barliman's words. It had been hard for him. It was almost funny to him now. He had found someone he could trust with his work. With his heart.
Barliman set the apple cider in front of Rimedur on the counter. The boy took a long drink, but was interrupted as Butterbur nodded his head toward Savela. She was walking toward him with her gentle, gracful stride, the book turned to the drawing he had been working on before. She handed the book back to him saying as she did so, "They're beautiful, all of them."
Rime quickly took back his, trying not to make eye contact with her. "Oh come on. I think what you did was sweet. You don't need to be embaressed," Savela said as she tried to make him look up at her. And it succeeded. Their eyes met for a moment and before he could even judge the situation, Savela took a step forward and kissed him on the cheek.
He felt the blood rush to his face and he knew he blushing. He blushed even more when he saw Gallius, Savela's brother, leaning up against the bar, smirking. "Well perhaps I did not come at the best moment," he said with an amused tone to his voice. Rimedur just stood there, stuttering like the utter fool he was. "Hello, Gallius," Savela chimed in," We were just... Well you saw what we were doing."
"Please don't tell Tylan. Please, Gallius." Her brother's smirk only grew larger as he said, "Why not?"
"Well you know what he did last time. Just imagine what he would do now."
"He won't do anything, I'm sure. Besides, I am here now too. To remind of his manners."
"Of course, brother."
Gallius' expression turned curious as he asked, "What were you two getting so mushy about anyway?"
Savela looked to Rimedur, who had hidden his eyes behind his mug of cider. She turned back to Gallius and said, "Well, Rimedur has appareantly made quite a few drawings of me and I thought it was sweet so-"
Gallius cut her off with a slight chuckle. "You didn't know? The entire family already that he was making drawings of you." Savela looked looked from Gallius to Rimedur saying, "I didn't know."
Rimedur made an attempt to chime in. "Appareantly rumor spreads through the Auburn Halls like wildfire." Gallius only smiled. "I must take my leave now. Behave yourselves, you two." Then, as he said he would, he took his leave.
Savela nodded back to Gallius as he left and turned around again. "Well that was slightly awkward," she said. Rimedur nodded, but just kept silent. He had his arm folded across his chest and one hand holding up his mug to cover his eyes still. Savela touched the rim of the tankard, gently pulling it down from his face. Her eyes seemed to smash through his translucent windows as if to take a better look. "Why are always so quiet," she asked, "You don't need to be embaressed."
Well that easy for her to say. She wasn't the one embaresssed. Rimedur stuttered slightly as Savela waited patiently for him to answer. "Is there something you want to say?" she asked as if she already knew the answer. And then, before he could think, he took a step forward and kissed her. He had expected a nice good slap in the face, but it didn't come. What did come was her wrapping her arms around his neck as he touched her warm hand at the top of his spine. It seemed to send electric shock pulses every second. For that moment, it seemed like nothing could interrupt them. Time stood still and everyone around them just disappeared. It was the happiest moment Rimedur had had in three years.
