Dear diary, as I write this I sit on the bed in my brand new hole. That's right - I finally bought the hole I was looking at for the last months. It's just perfectly situated - in the coziest, warmest little neck of Oakham, and next to the mushroom tent of the kin, as well! Ah, the privileges of being a Shirriff...
Here's a drawing of the hole. It's a nice, old-fashioned place, with a lovely old well in front - just like a fairy-tale cottage! I love it already.

Firefern and Silkweed helped me move in - Silkweed gave me her old bed until I can find a carpenter to make my own, and helped me paint the walls in this cozy dark blue. It looks really homely now!

Dad of course is a bit grumpy that I won't be living closer to Tookland so I can help out in the forge or on the fields. Hmph. Let my brothers do that! I told him in no uncertain terms that I have Shirriff duties and need to have a place close to the kin hole for this.
That and I am really, really tired of picking taters. :)
Well, that's it for now. I've been a busy Shirriff recently. Lots of new recruits wanting to be trained, and also a lot of travelling to far away places on Shirriff duty. Oh, and of course we were busy working on the new kin hole as well - it's now almost as cozy as my hole! We've all been bringing odds and ends to put in the halls and garden. I think it's getting really nice and representative for the Bounders!
