Khalis read the letter written to him by the envoy Nystal who had been asked to represent Imladris and the Warband at the Third Ting of the West which was to take place in Thorin's Hall. The letter was very well written but he would expect no less from the elf who had tutored the Lady Elisbeth, Tur of the Warband. The script was very elegant and flowing and it detailed those represented at the Ting. This Ting was unique in that it had for the first time asked for representation from all the Free People and not just from those sword into the Eldariant Alliance, thus the gathering was expected to be much larger than the previous two meets.
Nystal's words flowed across the paper detailing those who had come to Thorin's Hall, many of them were known to Khalis such as the People of the Shire, the Laiquendi Order, the Loth I Lonnath, Bar En Vanimar , Clan Stoutbeard and their hosts the Folk of Durin.. Khalis read the names of those Nystal written down and noted a trend in those sent to represent their various houses. Nystal also went on to mention that several others were at the gathering but not from organisations he knew of including a few rangers from the north and a small group of unusual characters one might simply call adventurers. But that group did have one man of worth dressed in blued mail who spoke with a firm well thought out dialogue.
Nystal mentioned that it was noted by the Ting that the folk of Durin and the Hobbits in the Shire had maintained steadfast contact since the last Ting. The folk of Durin called upon the Warriors of the Flower to work more closely with them in keeping the roads free of trouble for the merchantilers travelling the roads around Ered Luin. This the spokes person Earinlin for the Loth I Lonnath agreed upon.
Nystal went on to mention that when he was asked to speak he highlighted that those more to the west, the elven houses had not for many many years been able to come together to work closely. Something Parnard of Bar En Vanimar touched upon when he spoke late that due to differences in the past it would in the forseeable future not happen. Nystal mentioned that he reminded those present that the Warband of Imladris who served the will of the Council of Imladris had already shown that some men of quality could work successfully alongside menfolk and that this should served as an example to others.
Khalis read on further down the flowing script penned by Nystal paying attention to the smallest detail. He would later be asked to pass onto the Lady Elisbeth Starfire his thoughts on the possible outcome of the Ting.
Khalis refolded the letter and brought his thoughts back to the matter at hand securing the borders of Imladris. He glanced across at the camp fire and watched as Virthalion was trying to piece together the damaged letters found earlier that day upon a body at the base of the snowy peaks not far from the gates of Imladris.
This is an in character account of the Ting from the perspective of Nystal given to Khalis Imieran. The bulk of the Warband are patrolling the eastern borders of Imladris and the Misty Mounatins.
